Fossil: This is a genus of fossil species, or a genus with a fossil type species, or a genus the type species of which was originally described as a fossil.

Description: Valves broadly lanceolate-elliptical with simple raphes and conspicuous hollow parietal chambers which are undivided by partectal walls. Girdle bands hyaline, non-areolate. Valves single-layered, coarsely striate; striae composed of up to 6 somewhat elongate depressions of the inner surface, each surrounded by a ring of pores with raised external margins. The absence of partectal rings in Diademoides separates it from Mastogloia. Marine, Port Stephen, New South Wales and Port Douglas, Australia.
