This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Dilsea natashae (S.C.Lindstrom) G.W.Saunders & S.C.Lindstrom.

Saunders, G.W. & Lindstrom, S.C. (2011). A multigene phylogenetic assessment of the Dilsea/Neodilsea species complex (Dumontiaceae, Gigartinales) supports transfer of Neodilsea natashae to the genus Dilsea. Botanica Marina 54(5): 481-486.

Holotype locality: from pass between Indian Island (58º22'15"N, 134º42'00"W) and Coghlan Island (58º20'15"N, 134º42'00"W) [Alaska, USA]; (Lindstrom 1984: 33) Holotype: N.I. Calvin and R.J. Ellis; 6 October 1978; at a depth of about 6 m; UBC; A65915 (fig. 2) (Lindstrom 1984: 33) Notes: Isotypes: cystocarpic and tetrasporic specimens deposited at UBC, UC, MICH, US, the National Marine Fisheries Service, Auke Bay Laboratory, Alaska, and SAPS.
