Abstract:
The key to diatoms of Russia was prepared by the group scientists (systematists and florists) who study algae. The monograph included description of 767 species and varieties of diatoms from all taxonomic sky groups. The original illustrative material is 165 plates with 3098 predominantly light micrographs. The analysis included all freshwater genera known from the reservoirs of the world, and their description is given, including living in Russia and neighboring countries, but important for understanding the features taxonomy and biogeography in various groups of diatoms. The monograph is intended for algologists, hydrobiologists, limnologists, ecologists, nature conservation specialists; teachers, graduate students, students of higher education institutions, and will serve as a basis for further comparative studies typical watercourses of Russia and other European countries.
