Bordnamonas J.Larsen & D.J.Patterson, 1990
Holotype species: Bordnamonas tropicana J.Larsen & D.J.Patterson
Original publication and holotype designation: Larsen, J. & Patterson, D.J. (1990). Some flagellates (Protista) from tropical marine sediments. Journal of Natural History 24(4): 801-937, 61 figures.
Description: Uncertain euglenozoa, swimming cell, two thick flagella arising in a subapical crease, one held in an arc in front of the cell, the other trailing behind. Coming to rest to feed, at which time an apical ingestion apparatus is used to detach particles of food which are attached to the substrate. Affinities suggested to lie with stramenopiles (because of swimming behaviour) or kinetoplastids (because of anterior mouth and the thick flagella).

organised in the 1990s by Dr Bruce Parker on behalf of the Phycological Society of America (PSA)
and intended to be published in CD format.
These AlgaeBase descriptions are now being continually updated, and each current contributor is identified above.
The PSA and AlgaeBase warmly acknowledge the generosity of all past and present contributors and particularly the work of Dr Parker.
Descriptions of chrysophyte genera were subsequently published in J. Kristiansen & H.R. Preisig (eds.). 2001. Encyclopedia of Chrysophyte Genera. Bibliotheca Phycologica 110: 1-260.
