Nomenclatural note
"Such a designation was published with no diagnosis by Frauenfeld (1854: 349) who credited the species to Meneghini..." It was later "... very poorly described [and thuis validated] by Frauenfeld (1855: 40) from Primosten (Croatia), who didn't make any comparison with other species of Wrangelia treated in his paper. The species was no more recorded after its description. It was also ignored by De Toni in his Sylloge Algarum. Athanasiadis (2016: 988) listed it among incertae sedis of Wrangelieae."
