The type species (holotype) of the genus Bossiella is Bossiella plumosa (Manza) P.C.Silva.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Bossiella californica (Decaisne) P.C.Silva.

Taylor no. 34-643B; 10 March 1934; On littoral rocks in pools; Hancock Foundation; (Taylor 1945: 194-195) Notes: According to Dawson (1953: 152), Taylor 34-643B was on sheet 98 in the Alan Hancock Foundation Herbarium (now at LAM), and included slides 1417 and box 7012.
