Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Hymenocladia is Hymenocladia usnea (R.Brown ex Turner) J.Agardh.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Hymenocladia chondricola (Sonder) J.A.Lewis.
