The type species (lectotype) of the genus Pseudolithophyllum is Pseudolithophyllum fuegianum (Heydrich) M.L.Mendoza & Cabioch.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Spongites discoideus (Foslie) D.Penrose & Woelkerling.
