Taxonomic notes
According to Bustamante et al. (2016: 359), this is a heterotypic synonym of P. dendroidea. - (03 July 2017) - G.M. Guiry
This species was introduced accidentally, probably via oysters from Japan, into the Mediterranean (Verlaque et al. 2015: 217), being first found in the Etang de Thau (France) in 1993. - (05 November 2015) - M.D. Guiry
