Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Fucus is Fucus vesiculosus Linnaeus.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Gracilaria gracilis (Stackhouse) Steentoft, L.M.Irvine & Farnham.
