The type species (holotype) of the genus Enteromorpha is Enteromorpha intestinalis (Linnaeus) Nees.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Ulva clathrata (Roth) C.Agardh.

Nomenclatural note
Conferva crinita Roth, the intended basionym of Enteromorpha critinta is a later homonym of Conferva crinita Withering (1776: 751) and hence not priorable.
