Taxonomic note
"Ercegovic (1955b: 6) described Leathesia
mucosa f. exuberans distinguishing from the
autonym in having internal layer thicker [100-
200 µm vs 50-70(-90) in the autonym] and very
long assimilatory filaments [400-600(-800) µm
vs 350-400 µm in the autonym] consisting of a
higher number of cells [12-16(-20) cells vs 10-
