Lectotype locality: Yarmouth, Norfolk, England; (Silva & al. 1996: 481) Neotype: BM-K; (Maggs & Hommersand 1993: 390) Notes: Type locality recorded by Maggs & Hommersand (1993: 390) as Essex (Yarmouth); undated, Turner. Syntype localities: Cromer and Yarmouth, Norfolk, England (South & Skelton, 2003).

Origin of Species Name
Adjective (Latin), With markedly hairy leaves (Stearn 1983).
