Nomenclatural note
"Falkenberg (1879: 276) recorded that species from Naples and Gaeta (Italy); Bornet (1892: 297) and De Toni (1900: 732) considered it as a synonym of T. perpusillum; Papenfuss (1952: 179) considered it as conspecific with Polysiphonia nana and consequently as a synonym of Taenioma nanum."
