Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Cylindrocystis is Cylindrocystis brebissonii (Ralfs) De Bary.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Actinotaenium diplosporum var. majus (West) Coesel et Meesters.
