Distributional note
Berov et al. (2015) consider Black Sea records of C. crinita f. crinita to be misidentifications of C. bosphorica; records from Canary Islands also misidentifications. In their opinion, C. crinita is a strictly Mediterranean endemic species. - (02 April 2015) - G.M. Guiry
