Lectotype: OXF; (Hoek 1963: 223) Notes: Material of Conferva rivulorum capillacea, densissime congestis ramulis Dillenius at OXF has been selected as the lectotype by van den Hoek (1963: 223). The author considered that it represented a sterile Vaucheria.
