The type species (holotype) of the genus Bindera is Bindera splachnoides Harvey.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Webervanbossea kaliformis (J.Agardh) G.De Toni.
Type Information
Type locality: Waterloo Bay, South Australia; (Silva & al. 1996: 371) Holotype: O' Halloran; Herb. Agardh, LD; 25731 (Womersley 1996: 63) Notes: Womersley (1996: 63) notes that the type locality is probably Waterloo Bay on the south coast of Yorke Peninsula (not Waterloo Bay on Eyre Peninsula) and the collector is O' Halloran (not 'Halloran' as given with the type description).
