Silva (1979: 344) notes that “...the generic placement of this species is quetionable inasmuch as the concept of the genus Lola was based on material from Atlantic France identified with Rhizoclonium lubricum Setchell & Gardner rather than on mateiral from the type locality (Oakland).” - (11 May 2006) - G.M.
