The type species (lectotype) of the genus Callithamnion is Callithamnion corymbosum (Smith) Lyngbye.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Colaconema caespitosum (J.Agardh) Jackelman, Stegenga & J.J.Bolton.
