Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Amphiroa is Amphiroa tribulus (J.Ellis & Solander) J.V.Lamouroux.

This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Corallina aberrans (Yendo) K.R.Hind & G.W.Saunders.
