Nomenclatural note
This name replaces Ulva neapolitana Bliding, nom. inval., described from Naples where it was collected in March and April, 1958, but which has not been reported since according to Cormaci, Furnari & Alongi (2014: 108-109), who further discuss the distinctness of this entity. - (01 July 2015) - M.D. Guiry
