The type species (holotype) of the genus Haslea is Haslea ostrearia (Gaillon) Simonsen.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Navicula avium (M.E.Tiffany, Herwig & Sterrenburg) Yuhang Li & Kuidong Xi.
