This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Boreolithon van-heurckii (Heydrich) A.S.Harvey & Woelkerling.

[St Brelade, Jersey, Channel Islands; Aglaosphenia is a genus of hydroids of the family Aglaopheniidae]; (Harvey & Woelkerling 1995: 374) Lectotype: H. Van Heurck; February 1903; AWH; unnumbered (Harvey & Woelkerling 1995) Notes: Lectotype designated by Chamberlain & Irvine (1994: 199). Isolectotypes: TRH and PC.
