Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Ulva is Ulva lactuca Linnaeus.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Ulva tepida Y.Masakiyo & S.Shimada.

Type locality: Shelley Beach, Caloundra, Queensland, Australia (26°47'54"S, 153°08'58"E); (Phillips et al. 2016: 59) Holotype: Julie Phillips ; 18 May 2015; high intertidal zone on a rock platform adjacent to the sandy beach and in the path of frehwater seepage from land; BRI; AQ799134 (CAL 33) (Phillips et al. 2016: 59, fig. 2) Notes: Isotype: BRI AQ 799135 (CAL 35).
