Type locality: Formigues Islands, Palamós, Spain (North-western Mediterranean); (Rodríguez-Prieto & al. 2020: 458) Holotype (monoecious gametophyte): C. Rodríguez-Prieto; 8 October 2017; detritic bottom, at a depth of 37 m; algae section, Herb. Univ. Girona; HGI-A 19484 (Rodríguez-Prieto & al. 2020: 458, fig. 2) Notes: Isotypes in HGI-A # 19485 (female), 19488 (tetrasporic), 19490 ( fig. 3, female), 19498 (tetrasporic), and 19499 (male and female).
