Taxonomic note
According to Silva et al. (1996) the name Turbinaria vulgaris var. decurrens was misapplied to this species by Hemsley (1886: 340) and they recommend consulting Rhyne (1971: 56) for more information on the subject. - (11 May 2006) - G.M. Guiry
