Nomenclatural note
According to Silva et al. (1996) the name "Turbinaria indica" was not validly published since Gopalakrishnan did not provide a Latin diagnosis in thew original publication, and thus failed to satisfy Art. 36.2. Apparently validated by Krishnamurthy (2006: 43); not seen. - (11 May 2006) - G.M. Guiry
