Nomenclatural note
Illegitimate: "... [originally published as Lithothamnion investiens (Foslie 1895a: 157) but as a superfluous and thus illegitimate name for Lithophyllum zonatum (Foslie 1890: 10) (details provided by Woelkerling 1993: 130, 239). Foslie (1905c: 81) later transferred Lithothamnion investiens into Phymatolithon, thus creating a second superfluous and thus illegitimate name (Phymatolithon investiens) for Lithophyllum zonatum."
