This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Claviclonium ovatum (J.V.Lamouroux) Kraft & Min-Thein

Origin of species name
Adjective (Latin), oval, elliptical, i.e., broadest at the middle, the sides curved and length:breadth generally 2:1 (Stearn 1973).
