Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Galaxaura is Galaxaura rugosa (J.Ellis & Solander) J.V.Lamouroux.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Dichotomaria intermedia (R.C.Y.Chou) J.Wiriyadamrikul, M.J.Wynne & S.M.Boo.
