Nomenclatural note
Illegitimate: a later homonym of D. marginata (C. Agardh) Greville [= Stoechospermum polypodioides Lamouroux]. Dictyota marginata Areschoug was interpreted by Silva et al. (1996: 597) as a nomen novum for and not as a new combination of Zonaria marginata Suhr, which is a later homonym of Z. marginata C. Agardh and hence not prioritable. - (11 May 2006) - G.M. Guiry
