Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Phacelocarpus is Phacelocarpus tortuosus Endlicher & Diesing.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Phacelocarpus peperocarpos (Poiret) M.J.Wynne, Ardré & P.C.Silva.

Syntype localities: "West and south shores of New Holland, Tasmania"; (Silva & al. 1996: 315)
