Neotype locality: Soccoro, Kapingamarangi Atoll, Federated States of Micronesia; (Norris 1993: 339) Neotype: J.Newhouse; 8 Dec. 1953; BISH; 504926 (on a slide) (Norris 1993: 339) Notes: Huisman (2018: 411) notes: "This species was originally described based on a specimen from Nias Island, Sumatra, Indonesia, collected by Dr Kleiweg De Zwaan. According to Norris ([1993]: 392–394), no specimens could be located in Leiden, and he therefore proposed neotypification."
