Nitzschia epithemioides Grunow in Van Heurck, 1881: pl. LX [60]: figs 6-8 (INA). Original spelling: "epithemoides" (Grunow in Cleve & Grunow 1880: 82); "epithemoides" may be correctable to "epithemioides"? - (23 July 2013) - G.M. Guiry
Taxonomic note
"Syn.: Surirella laevis Brebisson ex Kiitzing" (Witkowski, Lange-Bertalot & Metzeltin 2000: 379). There is no mention of Brébisson as an author in the original description, jsut as collector.
