Nomenclatural note
Included in some publications as "brachygona" but the name "brachygonia" was originally used by Montagne (1843: 305). - (13 August 2014) - M.D. Guiry
Distributional note
"Ribera et al. (1992), in the note 9
(probably erroneously inserted), on the basis of
the paper by Riouall (1985) stated that this
species have been accidentally introduced from
Japan into the Thau Lagoon (France). However,
in Riouall's (1985) paper the species is not cited.
According to Verlaque (2001) it was never recorded
