This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Glochidinium penardiforme (Er.Lemmermann) Boltovskoy.

Boltovskoy, A. (2000 '1999'). The genus Glochidinium gen. nov., with two species: G. penardiforme comb. nov. and G. platygaster sp. nov. (Peridiniaceae). Grana 38: 98-107, 36 figs.
