The type species (lectotype) of the genus Amphiprora is Amphiprora constricta Ehrenberg.

This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Entomoneis pulchra (Bailey) Reimer.

Type locality: "...in the mud of a small creek near Mr. Duval’s boarding house, at Enterprise." [Volusia County, Florida, USA]; (Hendey 1964: 253) Notes: "Long Island Sound" (Hendey 1964: 253).
