The type species (holotype) of the genus Elachista is Elachista scutellata Duby.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Elachistiella endarachnae (H.Stegenga, J.J.Bolton, & R.J.Anderson) V.Cassano, Y.Yoneshigue-Valentin, & M.J.Wynne.
