The type species (holotype) of the genus Dysphinctium is Dysphinctium meneghinianum Nägeli.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Cosmarium annulatum (Nägeli) De Bary.

Adjective A (Latin), with rings (Griffith 2004).
