This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Cladophora sericea (Hudson) Kützing.

Isotype: L; Wyatt, Alg. Danm., n. 195 (Hoek 1963: 77) Notes: Van den Hoek (1963: 77) notes one plant belongs to Cl. sericea, the other one to Cl. albida.
