Syntype localities: "Ad littora Galloprovinciae et Niceam"; (Agardh 1842: 103) "Type" [Nice]: LD; herb. alg. Agardh no. 22637 (Gargiulo et al. 2013) Notes: The "type" mentioned by Gargiulo et al. (2013) is labelled "St. Hospice, 1841" , probably Golfe de Saint-Hospice near Nice. Collector: Risso; Giraudi; Solier (INA).
