General Environment
This is a freshwater species.

Description
Valves lanceolate-clavate, tumid at the centre of the valve; headpole narrow, footpole widened. Length 49-92 µm. Breadth 9-13 µm. Raphe straight, lateral, with external proximal raphe ends small. Axial area straight, no distinct central area. A single rounded stigma is present. Striae radiate, strongly radiate at footpole, 9-10 in 10 µm at the centre of the valve
