General Environment
This is a freshwater species.

Description
Valves broadly lanceolate-clavate, tumid at centre, with apiculate headpole and broadly rounded footpole with prominent apical pore field. Length 42-105 µm. Breadth 10.0-14.0 µm. Raphe undulate, lateral. Axial area linear, widening slightly towards the centre of valve, which contains a single stigma. Striae punctate, radiate, strongly so at footpole, 9-11 in 10 µm at valve centre. Septa and pseudosepta prominent
