General Environment
This is a marine species.
Description
Cells solitary, diameter 2.5-2.9 µm. Valves circular, not convex, with a narrow margin. Pervalvar axis about 2 µm. On each valve one labiate process slightly distant from the valve centre and 2-3 strutted processes distant from the margin, each with two satellite pores. Valve surface almost flat, smooth except for one or more rows of areolae forming an elegant pattern
