Holotype locality: Camdebus mountain in the vivinity of Graaf Reinet, Cape Province, South Africa; (Cocquyt & Jahn 2005: 152) Holoytpe: Greyish brown earth, on Juncus oxycarpus; BHUPM; Preparation No. 130715b in Ehrenberg collection (Cocquyt & Jahn 2005: 150, 152)

Origin of Species Name
Adjective B (Latin), pertaining to the Cape, usually the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa.

Description
Light microscopic description: Valves heteropolar, 78.5-100 microns long, 48-61.5 microns wide, ovate with broadly rounded head pole and a subacute base pole. The valve face is flat. About 10 alar canals in 100 microns, somewhat denser near the base pole. Poorly developed broad alae, only visible on the valve face near the valve margin. Each broad alar canal is subdivided into two or three canaliculi. The space between two alae is about 4 microns. No striation or punctation or pseudoraphe visible on the valve face. No gidle views were observed in the slides.
