This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Nemastoma dichotomum var. longitrichogynum (Ercegović) Athanasiadis.

Nomenclatural note
G. Furnari (pers. comm.) writes: "...the name of the infraspecific taxon proposed by Rodríguez-Prieto et al. (2004: 45) is superfluous because those authors quoted among synonyms N. constrictum Ercegovic var. longitrichogynum Ercegovic, that, as pointed out by Athanasiadis (2016: 660, note 2), has nomenclatural priority. However, it is nomenclaturally incorrect but not illegitimate according to Art. 52.4 of ICN. Therefore, the correct name of this taxon is N. dichotomum var. longitrichogynum (Ercegovic) Athanasiadis."
