Distributional note
This species was introduced into the Mediterranean (Verlaque et al. 2015: 263) via the Suez Canal, being first found at Alexandria and Sallum, Egypt prior to 1948. Now widespread on Libyian, Egyptian and Levantine coast. - (06 November 2015) - M.D. Guiry
