This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Zygnema kazachstanicum (Rundina) Kadlubowska.

Type locality: Kazakhstan, Alma-Ata region, Zailiyskiy Alatau, in puddles on the bank of Uzun-Kaharly river.; (Rundina 1977: 42)
