This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Dasya rigescens Zanardini.

Syntype localities: "Dalmazia - Sebenico, Vidovich; Lesina, Botteri" [Croatia: Lesina (=Hvar) (43º05'N, 16º35'E)] Sebenico, Dalmazia (collected by Vidovich); Lesina, Dalmazia (collected by Botteri); (Zanardini 1865: 385) Lectotype: Botteri; MCVE; unnumbered (Pena-Martin et al. 2011: 75, 71, fig 36) Notes: Pena-Martin et al. (2011: 71, 73) note that only material from Lesina is conserved in Herbarium Zanardini, at MCVE (Venice, Italia), and it consists of a sheet with five specimens, and 3 original drawings corresponding to figures 2, 3 and 4 of the plate XV B of the protologue. Undoubtedly, the fig.1 of that plate was drawn from a specimen of the MCVE sheet, the second on the left side labelled "B" and used by Zanardini to illustrate his species. This is chosen as the lectotype of Dasya rigescens
Origin of Species Name
Adjective (Latin), marked with two-coloured spots, having the centre of one colour surrounded by a broad ring of another (Stearn 1983).
